AACD &ndash Data Center Construction

AACD (Disabled Children Assistence Association) make it possible for Gêneses to build their data center in an total area of 38,5m², putting together the biggest level of security and building industry intelligence, in conformity with the ABNT (Technical Rules Brazilian Association) and the TIER 3, modality, contemplating:

• Best Data Center share conditions guarantee for separation of external risks like fire, smoke, humidity, intrusion, etc.;
• Minimization of fire risks of the Data Center (floor, ceiling, fireproof doors);
• Compatibility of the Data Center concerning usual operations and protection against fire and access control (pcf’s / access control);
• Data Center adequate acclimatization guarantee with all necessary redundancies;
• Stabilized electrical energy supply for the Data Center with all necessary redundancies;
• Adequate environmental lightening for the required operational conditions, safety and emergency of the Data Center;
• Protection of electrical system assets against electrical damage occurred by Data Center installation flaws (grounding);
• Data Center internal infra-structure availability for structured cabling, adequated to the client's LAN information transmission/ process;
• Accurate and automatic internal environmental conditions availabitily of information (temperature, humidity, tightness, etc.);
• Complete, early and accurate protection against fire events in the Data Center, comprehensive automatic fire combate in its inceptive phase, avoiding damages to the client's assets and making it possible for the operations to return to normal in no time (downtime);
• Identification and clearance of Data Center access guarantee, with records of all the inputs, outputs events and access error realized by biometric recognition;
• Visual register and preview guarantee of the records of all events occurred during the Access to the Data Center and from inside.

Amil Participações &ndash Retrofitting Data Center

Amil Participações gave Gêneses the opportunity to build their Retroffiting Data Center of a total area of 39,54m², putting together the biggest level of security and building industry intelligence, in conformity with the ABNT (Technical Rules Brazilian Association) and the TIER 3, modality, contemplating:

• Infra-structure to serve TIA 942 in some systems;
• Minimization of the fire load of the Data Center;
• Compatibility of the Access to the Data Center, concerning the usual operations, fire safety and Access control;
• Data Center adequate acclimatization;
• Estabilized energy supply for the Data Center;
• Required environmental lightening for the operational conditions, safety and emergency needed to the Data Center;
• Guarantee of the adequate internal cabling infra-structure availability for the processing / transmission of information for the client's LAN;
• Internal structured cabling infra-structure availability adequated to the information processing / transmission to the client's LAN;
• Early, accurate and complete internal fire events protection, with automatic fire combate in its incipient stage, avoiding damages to the client's assets and making it possible for the return of the operations in downtime.
• Identification and clearance of the Access to the Data Center guarantee, with records of all data input output and access failure.
• Record and viewing of all the events occurred in the Data Center and inside of it.

Amil Participações &ndash Structured cabling of its hospital and Focus Medical Center

Amil made it possible for Gêneses to make its horizontal and vertical cabling re-estructuring motivated by some difficulties found on the data commutation, comprehending the Furukawa certification.

MEDICAL CENTER BUILDING:

• Organization, certification and identification of the 480 UTP 4-pair Cat. 5e cables, which were crimped on 24-port Cat.5 patch panel and on Jack RJ45 Cat.5 rack and key stone, on the terminal side.
• The organization of 6 network distribution racks.

HOSPITAL BUILDING:

• Identification, certification and organization of 240 UTP 4-Pair Cat.5e cables, which were crimpled on 24-port Cat.5 patch panel and on Jack RJ45 Cat.5 rack and key stone, on the terminal side;
• Distribution racks.
• Organization of 3 network distribution racks.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

• Existing infra-structure was uses, but some adjustments were made.

NETWORK DOCUMENTATION:
At the end of the project, the as-built documentation was provided comprehending all characteristics of the network, such as:

• Floor plan with all the positions of the all IXPs, their IPs and infra-structure routing;
• Rack face plane, with the disposition of the assets and network architecture;
• Certification report of all the points;
• All documentation delivered in media and plotted.

Nowadays, Amil Paticipações counts on total security and organization of its data vertical and horizontal cabling.

Hitachi Air Products Brazil

Realizing complete and daily tasks on its HPUX and Windows servers, the backup and restoring processes became complex in the managing and slow in execution, once they were performed manually and used DAT tapes for the storage of the files. With the proposal and implementation of CA ARCserve Backup, the process was automated to get a much shorter used time, making use of the Disk Staging (D2D2T) policy with complete backups, realized on HP ProLiant DL servers, shortening considerably the quantity and complexity of medias used as backup, now happening in a HP Ultrium LTO3 Unit..

The solutions of CA ARCserve Backup could meet all Hitachi's expectations on its possessions: Exchange Server 2003m Informix data basis on HPUX files servers, realizing an automatic and efficient backup process.

Comercial Mercotubos Atibaia

With a new building construction and the hiring of a big number of new employees, Mercotubos could not turn away from worrying about management improvements and expasion of its IT structure. To meet the needs of the new demand, way bigger than before, Gêneses suggested the implementation of a totally integrated environment, using HP ProLiant servers, CA and Microsoft softwares: Windows Server2003 and Exchange Server 2003, Brightstore ARCserver Backup and other solutions made it possible.

Nowadays, having around 250 employees, Mercotubos can manage to run its IT structure with greater facility, and use its labor force available for the department in a better way .

OGMO

OGMO (Port Labor Management Organ of Santo Harbor), via CA direct indication, requested Gêneses services to supply its needs of backup, a problem faced specially in a Linux server with data basis in Oracle.

After performing studies with the client, a need of updating of its actual version of BrigthStor ARCserver Backup and the implantation of a special agent for the data basis in Oracle was diagnosed. Therefore, the solution was implemented with success, comprehending the total of four Linux servers in Oracle in their backup structure, providing the best management and data safety.

Index Tornos

Due to the consolidation of the Index-Werke Group domains world wide, one of the biggest CNC lathe producer, Index Tornos Automáticos opted by using a then newly launched viewing methodology, putting together all of its services in a small physical server park. Thanks to that, it got a better cost and benefit relation and a full use of the potential of hardware available.

Gêneses designed a solution using the most respected manufactures of the IT market, such as Cisco, HP, Microsoft, and VMware to make it possible to connect, the best way possible, the German and Brazilian units.

HP provided 16 virtual servers consolidated into only 2 physical HP ProLiant DL servers, using a MSA storage to obtain maximum access to the information contained. With VMware ESX, A full use of the hardware was guaranteed and also the possibility of managing the physical and virtual servers through only one console.

Relating to data safety, an integrated backup solution was implemented, counting on a HP aoutoloader and Open View DataProtector software, running tasks on Oracle servers and running on HPUX, Microsoft service platform, containing: e-mail, files, printing and domain servers.

Being well-known as a powerful IT solution integrator, Gêneses provided all of the infra-structure needed to this solution, going beyond all expectations of the Index-Werke group.

Brazilian Navy Backup Consolidation

The Brazilian Navy can now rely on a multiplatform server park with operational systems from Microsoft and Novell manufactures (Linux and Netware)

Gêneses could diagnose the Brazilian Navy's priorities related to the need of centralization of all of its backup system into only one server, making a 1.6 data mass terabyte unit available, which was provided by the manufacturer.

With the support of CA manufacturer on this project, Gêneses implemented ArcSever backup software to centralize all the backup service management, making its communication agents available in the multiplatform server park obtained with Novell Linux Suse, Novel Netware and Microsoft Windows Server operational systems.

The result of this project caused a great impact, overcoming any expectation of the Brazilian Navy, because the backup time was reduced from 6 hours to 30 minutes, thanks to the average speed of 3 gigabytes/ minute reached by the backup unit. Therefore, a better management of the backup tasks was obtained, because the previews management did not have all results centralize on the same software, then increasing the time and risk for the responsible administrator.

Emerson Process

With units in Sorocaba, São Paulo and Macaé, Emerson Process is responsible for the management and rebuilding of Petrobras petrol platforms. Gêneses implanted Macaé Emerson Process unit and participated on the elaboration of the structured cabling, electrical, and communication network projects. Gêneses also participated on the installation of servers and working stations and implanted storage (NAS) and backup (autoloader) solutions.

Expresso Jundiaí

Expresso Jundiaí is today one of the biggest cargo transport and logistics companies in Brazil. Gêneses is a strategic partner to Expresso Jundiaí, once this company is found on an expansion process of its activities, based on IT infra structure. For this reason, Gêneses developed and installed the new IT infra-structure for Expresso Jundiaí, putting together a new Data Center, with Microsoft clusters, SAN HP storage network, CA and HP backup solutions, redundant routers and switches

Lojas Marisa

Following the philosophy of offering quality clothes items for women at an accessible price, and active for 55 years, Marisa includes a chain of more than 150 stores all over the country and it is at the present time the biggest store chain of female fashion in Brazil. Gêneses acts as the infra-structure provider, arranging and implementing solutions on structured cabling, printers, servers and softwares. Gêneses also executed the implementation of a backup solution for Marisa's corporative network, which is a high availability backup solution based on a SAN network and CA softwares, which makes an integrated management of the entire solution possible.
